Dear Parents and Carers,
Karibu kwa wiki 6;
Bienvenue à la semaine 6;
Wadda Mooli, Welcome to Week 6, Term 3 2025.
We are now halfway through the term, and the pace of learning and assessment activities is ramping up across the school! It has been a busy and exciting few weeks with lots happening both in and out of the classroom.
Our Year 5 and 6 students recently returned from camp, where they had a fantastic time building friendships, developing new skills, and enjoying a range of outdoor adventures. It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm and teamwork in action.
Meanwhile, our Year 4 students went on an educational excursion to the local recycling facility. This hands-on experience gave them great insight into sustainability and the importance of caring for our environment.
Sporting events have also been a highlight, with many students participating at the Red Track meet. We’re proud to share that our athletes achieved some excellent results — well done to everyone who took part!
Last week, we celebrated Under 8s Week with a fun-filled day of activities designed especially for our youngest learners. It was a joy to see the smiles and excitement as they engaged in creative and playful learning experiences.
Looking ahead, we are eagerly preparing for our Book Week assembly tomorrow. This event promises to be a wonderful celebration of reading and imagination, and we can’t wait to see the creative costumes and enthusiasm from our students.
Finally, please join me in warmly welcoming Ms Jessica Collin to our school staff. Jessica has joined us as the permanent Head of Special Education Services, and we are thrilled to have her expertise and passion supporting our students and families.
Thank you all for your continued support. Let’s keep the momentum going for a great term ahead!
Kind Regards
Lee Braney

Our Fortnightly Wrap Up
Stretch, Balance & Teamwork in Prep PE

Our Prep classes have been busy in PE!
Our Prep classes have been having a fantastic time in PE! Over the past few weeks, they’ve been learning all about stretching and balancing — with a little help from a partner.
It’s been wonderful to see our youngest students showing great teamwork, concentration, and enthusiasm as they try new skills and support each other.
Under 8's Day Fun

How good was Under 8’s Day last Friday?! Our younger students had an absolute blast — from playdough and pot painting to sweet treats and outdoor fun, there was something for everyone to enjoy!
A huge thank you to our amazing staff and volunteers who came along and ran activities. We’d also like to extend a special thank you to Bunnings, the Smith family, our local Police and Firies, and Multicultural Australia for their amazing support and involvement. Your generosity and effort helped make the day truly memorable!
Year 5/6 Adventure to Magnetic Island

Our Year 5 and 6 students had an unforgettable experience on their recent camp to Magnetic Island! Over the few days, they explored beautiful beaches, spotted native wildlife, and enjoyed a variety of fun activities including hiking, beach games, and a range of sporting activities — from soccer and volleyball to tennis and more.
One of the highlights was a talent contest, where the students had the chance to show off their amazing skills and creativity, adding even more fun to the trip!
The students showed great enthusiasm, resilience, and friendship throughout the camp — making memories that will last a lifetime. A big thank you to the teachers who helped make this adventure possible!
Solid Pathways - Stem

This program is for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in Years 4–6 who excel in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths (STEM). It helps students become better problem solvers and creative thinkers while connecting with peers online. Using real-world challenges and inquiry-based learning, the program extends beyond the usual curriculum and includes Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. With four rounds each year, students can build a strong portfolio through exciting projects.
Bullying. No Way! Week – Spreading Kindness

Last week, our students embraced Bullying, No Way Week by spreading kindness and positivity throughout the school.
🧡 They used chalk to write uplifting messages on our walkways, showing that kindness can leave a mark in more ways than one.
🎨 At lunchtime, they created colourful posters, paper chains, and filled the whiteboard with kind words.
🌿 Students also helped grow our Kindness Tree by adding paper leaves with positive messages.
💬 A favourite message from the week: “Be the I in KIND.”
We’re so proud of the caring and inclusive spirit our students showed all week long!

Parents are key partners in this effort by establishing positive routines and addressing any attendance challenges early. Teachers contribute by delivering engaging lessons and fostering a warm, welcoming environment that motivates students to attend.
