2025 Annual Implementation Plan Focus
School Priority 1
Maximise engagement and wellbeing through a clear vision that increases student engagement, staff morale and community connection.
School Priority 2
Improve LOA in English for all students (P-6) through a focus on lesson planning and delivery
Dear Parents and Carers,
Karibu wiki ya 8;
Bienvenue à la semaine 8;
Wadda Mooli, Welcome to Week 8, Term 2 2025.
As we finish off Week 8, and with only two weeks left of the term, I want to take a moment to acknowledge the incredible effort students, staff, and families have put in this term. It’s been a busy and productive few months, and we’re all looking forward to a well-earned break. The energy, learning, and growth we’ve seen across the school have been fantastic! Well done to everyone for staying focused and working hard right through to the end.
This week, we’re continuing to encourage all students to use the High 5 strategy when managing behaviour and building positive relationships. The High 5 is a simple but powerful approach that reminds us to: 1. Ignore, 2. Talk Friendly, 3. Talk Firmly, 4. Walk Away, and 5. Report. It’s a great tool for helping students manage minor conflicts, show kindness, and learn how to resolve issues calmly and respectfully. By using the High 5, we’re creating a safer, more respectful environment where everyone feels valued. Let’s keep showing kindness and looking out for one another as we finish the term strong.
ATTENDANCE – Every Day Counts & School Starts at 8.30am
We have set a whole-school goal of achieving 88% attendance this year, and we believe that every day in school matters. Our Attendance rate is currently 86.3%. Regular attendance is crucial to student success, as it ensures consistent learning, maintains good relationships with peers and teachers, and helps build important skills that extend beyond the classroom. Parents play a vital role in supporting good attendance by encouraging routines and being proactive when issues arise. Teachers help by providing engaging lessons and creating a welcoming environment that makes students excited to come to school. Ultimately, students are key to this goal, as their commitment to attending school and engaging in their learning will ensure we achieve success together.
Travel Safely to School!
Getting to school safely is important no matter how you travel. If you’re walking or riding a bike, always use footpaths and proper crossing areas, wear a helmet if riding a bike, and stay alert near traffic. When taking the bus, wait safely at the stop, be respectful to others, and follow the driver’s instructions at all times. Please remember, every time you are outside of school in uniform, you are representing our school. So do it with pride. Whether you're walking, riding, or waiting at the bus stop, let’s show the same respectful, responsible behaviour that we expect at school. Let’s all do our part to stay safe and represent our school community in a positive way!
Aitkenvale is a great school and a wonderful place to belong. Our students, staff, and families work together to create a warm, supportive environment where everyone is valued and encouraged to do their best. We are proud of our strong sense of community, the respect we show one another, and the way we celebrate each other's achievements. At Aitkenvale, every student has a place, every voice matters, and together we grow and succeed.

The energy has been electric, with students not only playing their hearts out but also cheering on their teammates and having loads of fun along the way. Well done to all involved!.
