2025 Annual Implementation Plan Focus
School Priority 1
Maximise engagement and wellbeing through a clear vision that increases student engagement, staff morale and community connection.
School Priority 2
Improve LOA in English for all students (P-6) through a focus on lesson planning and delivery
Dear Parents and Carers,
Karibu wiki ya 6;
Bienvenue à la semaine 6;
Wadda Mooli, Welcome to Week 6, Term 2 2025.
As we reach the midpoint of the term, it’s a great time to pause and reflect on how we’re all going as a school community. Mid-term can bring a mix of challenges and achievements, so it's important we continue to look out for one another. Checking in not just on academic progress, but also on social connections and overall wellbeing. Whether it's lending a hand to a classmate, offering a kind word, or taking a moment to look after your own mental health, every small act helps strengthen our community. Let’s keep the lines of communication open and support each other so that everyone feels valued and encouraged to thrive both in and out of the classroom.
Our school has made strong progress towards our key goals for this year, and the data from Term 1 reflects the hard work of students, staff, and families. Our academic target is for 80% of students to achieve A–C grades, and we are currently at 77%—a solid result that shows we are on track and building momentum. In attendance, our goal is 88%, and we are currently sitting at 86.2%, a positive step forward as we continue to promote the importance of being at school every day. Our attendance in 2024 was 85%. One of our standout achievements is in wellbeing, where our focus on positive behaviour has led to a significant reduction in daily behaviour incidents from an average of 7.8 per day in 2024 to just 4.2 in 2025. These improvements show the strength of our collective efforts and the positive direction we're heading together.
Staff morale has also seen a noticeable lift this year, thanks in large part to the positive shift in student behaviour. With a significant reduction in daily behaviour incidents, classrooms are calmer, more focused, and more enjoyable learning environments. This has allowed teachers and support staff to spend more time on quality teaching and building strong, positive relationships with students. The improved atmosphere across the school is creating a more supportive and energising workplace for everyone.
As we celebrate the positive progress so far, it’s important that we continue to work hard to maintain and build on these improvements. Sustaining high academic achievement, strong attendance, positive behaviour, and staff wellbeing requires ongoing commitment from our entire school community. By staying focused, supporting one another, and consistently reinforcing the values and practices that have brought us this far, we can keep moving forward.
Aitkenvale State School is a great school and a great community, built on strong values, high expectations, and genuine care for one another.
