Dear Parents and Carers,
Karibu wiki ya 2;
Bienvenue à la semaine 2;
Wadda Mooli, Welcome to Week 2, Term 2 2025.
Welcome back, everyone! The holidays are officially over. We hope you had a restful and enjoyable Easter holiday, filled with special moments and a chance to recharge. As we return to school for Term 2, there’s a sense of renewed energy and excitement in the air. This term is a fresh opportunity for all of us to continue growing academically, socially, and personally. We have so much to look forward to including new topics to explore, goals to achieve, sport to play and experiences to share.
As always, our strength lies in our community. By working together, we can create a supportive environment where everyone can thrive. Let’s continue to encourage one another, lend a helping hand when needed, and celebrate our collective successes. Whether it’s in the classroom, on the sports field, or in creative pursuits, let’s make Term 2 a time of collaboration, enthusiasm, and achievement. We’re so glad to have everybody back, and we can’t wait to see all the great things we will achieve together.
ATTENDANCE – Every Day Counts & School Starts at 8.30am
We have set a whole-school goal of achieving 88% attendance this year, and we believe that every day in school matters. Regular attendance is crucial to student success, as it ensures consistent learning, maintains good relationships with peers and teachers, and helps build important skills that extend beyond the classroom. Parents play a vital role in supporting good attendance by encouraging routines and being proactive when issues arise. Teachers help by providing engaging lessons and creating a welcoming environment that makes students excited to come to school. Ultimately, students are key to this goal, as their commitment to attending school and engaging in their learning will ensure we achieve success together.

Prep Students Enjoy a Fun-Filled Pet Detective Experience!
Today, our littlest learners in Prep had a special visit from the amazing team at Paluma Environmental Education Centre with their exciting Pet Detective program!
Students engaged with a range of fun characters to explore the needs of pets and plants, learning through hands-on activities and storytelling. It looked like they had a fantastic time—full of smiles, curiosity, and discovery!
A big thank you to the Paluma team for providing such a fun and educational experience!

Interhouse Cross Country: A Day of Spirit, Fun, and Teamwork!

Honouring the ANZACs
Last Thursday the students and staff paid their respects in remembering the ANZACs. Thank you to our families who joined us today for our ANZAC Commemoration service. ANZAC Day holds a special place in our countries landscape as we acknowledge and honour the courage and sacrifice of the Australian and New Zealand soldiers who served our countries. A special thank you to Aircraft Woman Jasmin Dodds who attended the service.

Science Incursion Fun
Yesterday our Year 2 students had a fantastic time during a special science incursion hosted by Mr Murphy from Belgian Gardens State School. Mr Murphy brought science to life with exciting demonstrations—and even had a special assistant with him… Shadow his cockatiel!
The students were captivated by the fun, hands-on activities and loved meeting the feathered friend who stole the show. A big thank you to Mr Murphy for such an engaging and educational experience!
