Dear Parents and Carers,
Karibu wiki ya 10;
Bienvenue à la semaine 10;
Wadda Mooli, Welcome to Week 10, Term 1 2025.
As we wrap up this term at Aitkenvale State School, I would like to thank all our parents/carers, students, and staff for their dedication and hard work. It has been a term full of growth, learning, and achievements, and we are well on our way to reaching our 2025 goals. The collaboration and effort from everyone involved have been truly inspiring, and it's clear that we are building a strong culture for continued success.
Despite the challenges posed by the significant rainfall and disruptions we've faced, we've managed to come through the other side with resilience and determination. It hasn't been easy, but the way everyone has adapted and worked together has been remarkable. We look forward to a less disruptive term and some drier weather.
As we head into the holiday break, I hope everyone takes the time to relax, recharge, and enjoy quality time with loved ones, doing whatever it is that makes you happy. We look forward to seeing you all back for the start of Term 2, ready for another productive and exciting chapter. Wishing you all a safe and enjoyable holiday!
Our current whole school attendance for Term 1 is at 85.7%. Not bad considering the amount of wet weather we have been having. Our 2025 goal is 88% attendance. Is your child attending regularly?
Behaviour data at the end of Term 1 indicates there has been a decrease in incidents by 44%. Our 2025 goal was to reduce daily incidents from an average of 4.9 to 3.5. Currently we average 2.47 incidents per day.
I will update you after the holidays with our academic data for Term 1. But early indications are we are tracking nicely towards our targets as well. These are truly incredible milestones and achievements for us to celebrate, especially when we compare them to this time last year.

A huge thank you to the Cowboys and Jeremiah for making this day so memorable.

New Signs Unveiled: Celebrating Our Core Values!
We've just unveiled brand new signs at the entry to school that proudly display our core values! These signs are a daily reminder of the principles that shape our school community and guide us in everything we do: Aspirational, Inclusive and Resilient.
Each sign is strategically placed along the pathway to inspire students, staff, and visitors to embody these values and create a positive and supportive learning environment.

Congratulations Year 6: Amazing Theme Park Creations!
A huge round of applause to all our Year 6 students for successfully completing their theme park designs as part of their Design Technology project! Your creativity, hard work, and teamwork have truly paid off, and we are so impressed with the incredible designs you've come up with.

Easter Bonnet Parade Celebration!
Today, our Prep to Year 2 students brought their creativity and Easter spirit to life with a fun-filled Easter Bonnet Parade! 🐰👒 From colourful decorations to whimsical designs, the students proudly showcased their amazing handmade bonnets.
It was a joy to see all the smiles and excitement as they strutted down the runway, showing off their unique creations! A big thank you to everyone who helped make this event special. We're so proud of all the little designers and can't wait for next year’s parade! 🐣💐

Term 1 Reflections: A Celebration of Learning, Leadership, and Key Experiences
Term 1, 2025, has been a busy and exciting time at school! Our students put in a lot of hard work in the classroom, while also enjoying some incredible experiences. They got the chance to meet the North Queensland Cowboys through the Adopt a Cowboys program, learning about teamwork and sportsmanship. The Deadly Choice initiative focused on promoting health and well-being, and the Grip Leadership Conference gave our Year 5 and 6 leaders a chance to develop their leadership skills. We also celebrated Harmony Day, embracing our cultural diversity, and welcomed Healthy Harold for fun and interactive health lessons. The Year 3-6 swimming lessons were a great success, teaching important water safety skills. It’s been a term full of hard work, growth, and exciting experiences, and we’re excited for what's ahead in Term 2!
